North Whidbey Middle School was alive with color, flavor, and pride during this year's Culture Fair! The annual event showcases cultures from across the world.
With nothing more than a poster board, a homemade dish, and a whole lot of heart, students became ambassadors of their heritage—sharing stories, recipes, and history from across the globe. From savory bites to sweet treats, and vibrant displays to heartfelt conversations, the event was a celebration of identity, connection, and the beautiful mosaic that makes up our school community.
Thank you to the MANY people who attended and made it such a great event for students and families.
On Friday, March 21, the Oak Harbor High School Multicultural Club hosted an assembly with the help of the Leadership Class. This assembly showcased the unique cultures that make up OHHS. Students sang, danced, and played games that represented their cultures. Leading up to the assembly, clubs planned a Multicultural Awareness Week, where students were given the opportunity to learn more about different cultures. During the spirit week, students were encouraged to dress in certain colors for each day. Students were also able to come in before school to taste foods that are unique to each culture like horchata, khatta meetha, spam musubi, and many more!
